The Big Bang-Up Bash
The Ottawa Citizen, 28 Dec 2006.

This New Year's Eve, Zaphod Beeblebrox hosts a slew of bands that made waves in 2006, including spy-surf send-up act The Reverb Syndicate.
Front guy Jeff Welch, who goes by the stage handle Reginald Goodthrust, has a five-point plan. It includes: 1) Lose 15 pounds; 2) Break up secret Soviet plan to contaminate North American vodka supplies; 3) Call Mom more often; 4) Rethink my "shoot first, ask questions later" policy; and 5) Cut back on the gin and tonics.
Meanwhile, Amos the Transparent's frontman Jonathan Chandler says he will try to be a little more health conscious in the New Year. His band plans to release Everything I've Forgotten to Forget on Pop Culture Records in May and he says the group's resolution is "not to hold back" once the record is launched.
Both bands play the club (27 York St.) along with Travel By Owl (formerly The Architects) and The Sick Fits. 8 p.m., $15 advance, TicketWeb.com
