There is not much in the files about the man they call The Fixer. Some believe he is a former KGB agent exiled for his funky beliefs, while others think he is a specialist in infiltrating organizations with his hypnotic rhythms. I first encountered him in a seedy bar in northern Montana where I was trailing a group claiming responsibility for the great scotch shortage of 81. When I arrived at their headquarters, the entire group had already been anesthetized by this maverick and his percussion solos. We may not know his background well, but he is a necessary element in our efforts to keep the world a hip and happening place.
